Master Stylist

Roswitha Lutz-Carter
 

With over 40 years of cutting and styling expertise, Roswitha is one of Houston’s most experienced master stylists. Her career began in 1974 as an apprentice in Germany, where it’s compulsory to spend years mastering your craft before you’re able to open your own salon. Having joined the Ausburg Hairdressers Guild and completing her 6,240 hours of coursework, she then went on to work as a hairdresser at the Bronnmayer Hair Salon in Ausburg. While there, she received additional training in Paris and Munich, as well as placing in several German National hairdressing competitions.

In 1981, Roswitha earned her Master Craftsman Certification after completing the required 800-hour course of study and examination. She began working as a hairdresser for Heads Salon in Munich, where she completed an additional three-month course in traditional English haircutting techniques at the Vidal Sassoon School.

She then opened her first salon, Hair Design, back in her hometown of Ausburg. There, she employed and trained her staff of 10 haircutters, running the salon from 1981-1997.

In 1995 Roswitha opened Atelier Art of Cut salon here in Houston, TX. For over 20 years, her extensive experience and congenial personality has earned many loyal customers—some of whom fly in from other cities and states to make their appointments. Today, she continues to train her staff in the signature haircutting styles she’s developed over the last 40 years.

April

April has been a stylist at Atelier since graduating from the AVEDA institute in 2007. She’s honed a keen sense for each client’s individual style and stays well-versed in the latest trends, whether styling or fashion. April specializes in both AVEDA and Wella color lines, and has extensive product knowledge in AVEDA, Bumble & Bumble and Sebastian. April is highly skilled in cut and color work, but ultimately enjoys creating the perfect personalized client experience—no matter what it entails.

Traci

Traci joined Atelier in October of 2014, after amassing five years in the industry. Having started her career as an apprentice for Toni & Guy, she is comfortable with all textures of hair, maintains a special affinity for cutting curly hair. She has worked with many color lines and is trained in balayage. Traci is certified with Great Length extensions, who only use the highest quality, 100% virgin hair from the temples of India.
